The Wiekamp Hall Network Rewire Project began on Tuesday, September 5th. Starting with the 3rd floor, the building’s network wiring will be upgraded with cat6a cabling throughout.
The work will generally be performed from 5:00am to 3:30pm – Tuesday through Friday. The project is expected to take around 90 days for completion.
When the project is complete, Wiekamp Hall will be well outfitted for the foreseeable future to provide a reliable and modern network infrastructure for all of its occupants.
What can faculty and staff expect to see during this project?
We will make every effort to minimize network disruption for all users.
Furniture may need to be temporarily moved so that network jacks are accessible.
Network jacks may appear loose on the wall while the new cabling is run into individual offices. This will not interfere with network service for your office.
UITS will keep the campus and all stakeholders informed on the project as it progresses.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Phil Mikulak at pmikulak@iusb.edu
